Best Zapier alternatives in 2026

Zapier connects more apps than anything else we know of, but costs climb as your automations run more often and complex logic gets fiddly. Our list of dedicated automation tools is still short, so this page is honest about that and shows where built-in automations can replace Zapier today.

Zapier9.1

Still our Best for no-code workflows pick — but it isn't the right fit for every team.

How to pick an alternative

A quick note first: we’re still adding automation platforms to the site, so the ranked list above leans on tools that include automation as part of a bigger product. We’ll add dedicated Zapier competitors once we’ve put them through our full testing process. Until then, here’s how to think about the choice.

Your bill keeps rising

Zapier charges by how much your automations run, so a busy Zap can push you up a plan. Before switching platforms, check whether the apps you’re connecting can talk to each other directly. Many popular tools now ship native integrations that cost nothing extra.

Your automations are mostly email and CRM

If most of your Zaps tag contacts, send follow-ups or move deals, the automation builder inside your marketing tool may do the job. ActiveCampaign is built around visual automations, Brevo includes marketing automation, and HubSpot CRM adds workflows on its paid tiers.

Your automations are mostly project work

Moving tasks when a status changes, assigning work or posting updates can usually happen inside your project tool. ClickUp and monday.com both have built-in automations, though usage limits depend on the plan.

You need complex, branching logic

This is where the trade-offs are real. Visual scenario builders handle branching and data transformation well but take longer to learn. Open-source tools you host yourself can cut running costs, but you take on updates, uptime and security. Zapier’s strength remains the size of its app library and how quickly a non-technical person can build something that works. If nobody on your team wants to maintain automations, that strength may be worth the price.

Switching tips

  • Inventory your Zaps. List each Zap, its trigger, its steps and how often it runs. Turn off the ones nobody needs before comparing costs.
  • Rebuild, don’t import. Automations rarely move between platforms. Recreate each one and test it with real sample data.
  • Move the simplest first. Start with single-step automations, then tackle the multi-step ones once you know the new tool.
  • Overlap carefully. Never run the old and new automation on the same trigger at once, or you’ll get duplicate records. Switch one off as the other goes live.

FAQ

Is there a free Zapier alternative?

Zapier has its own free plan for simple automations. Beyond that, native integrations and the automation builders inside tools you already pay for are often the cheapest option.

Why don’t you list more automation platforms?

We only rank tools we’ve put through our testing process. More automation platforms are on our list, and this page will be updated as they’re reviewed.

Should I keep Zapier?

If you connect many different apps and nobody on the team is technical, probably yes. See our Zapier review and our guide to sending leads to your CRM and Slack.
