About Workflow Times

Workflow Times helps freelancers, small-business owners and small teams choose the software they run their work on. We review productivity and workflow tools, explain who each one suits, and say plainly when something isn’t worth your money.

Who we are

We’re a small, independent team of people who run small businesses and teams ourselves. We’ve had to pick project tools, set up CRMs, wire apps together and decide whether a subscription was still earning its keep. That’s the perspective we write from: practical, budget-aware and a little impatient with marketing copy.

We aren’t owned by a software company, and no vendor has a say in what we publish.

What we cover

  • Reviews of individual tools: what they do well, where they fall short, and which plan to pick.
  • Comparisons that put two popular tools side by side, such as Notion vs ClickUp.
  • Alternatives pages for when a tool you use stops fitting.
  • Best-of lists that rank the tools in a category, like project management.
  • Deals, including lifetime deals from marketplaces, with a frank view of the risks. See current deals.
  • Workflow guides that walk through real setups step by step.

Our principles

Independence. We decide what to review, how to score it and where it ranks. Companies can’t buy a review, a better score or a higher spot on a list.

Honesty about money. Software pricing is often confusing on purpose. We explain how a tool charges, where costs tend to grow, and when the free plan is enough. We don’t print prices from memory: pricing tables are checked and dated.

Straight talk on lifetime deals. Paying once can be great value, but young products sometimes stall or shut down. Every deal we cover comes with the questions to ask first: the refund window, the roadmap, the founders’ track record and how to get your data out. Our piece on whether lifetime deals are worth it goes deeper.

Corrections. Tools change all the time and we sometimes get things wrong. When we find or are told about a mistake, we fix it promptly and update the page date. You can read more in how we test software.

How we make money

Workflow Times is free to read. We earn affiliate commissions when you buy software through some of our links, including through affiliate networks and lifetime-deal marketplaces such as AppSumo and RocketHub. You don’t pay anything extra.

Commissions never decide scores or rankings, and we never accept payment for placement. If a tool with no affiliate program is the best choice, we say so. Our affiliate disclosure explains how links are marked and how it all works.

Our promise

We’d rather lose a commission than recommend a tool that’s wrong for you.
